Chapter 20 of 24 · Finish every remaining objective
Raise Fear with a purpose
Earn Nightmare through controlled Fear and weapon-bound Testaments without breaking the selected aspect's main attack sequence.
Do these first
Full steps belowRaise Fear for a specific Testament
The Oath and Testament systems are available and normal clears are reliable.
Nightmare is scarce aspect currency. Controlled difficulty creates steady upgrades while large jumps hide which condition caused the failure.
Know what each active vow changes
- Each Oath condition changes a specific part of the run.
- Testaments bind a target, route, weapon, and Fear requirement.
- Bounties of the Infinite Abyss can add Nightmare rewards after an eight-Fear route clear and the required late-route entries.
Configure the Oath and protect the build
- Read the Testament before selecting Fear
Choose the required weapon and route first. Set only enough Fear to satisfy the current bounty.
- Add one understandable condition
Prefer a condition whose effect the selected aspect can absorb. Avoid stacking several changes to enemy speed, damage, healing, or time before you know which one breaks the run.
- Remove the condition that undermines the plan
A channeling build should avoid pressure that erases safe charge windows. A fragile close-range build should not add damage pressure merely because its numerical Fear is convenient.
- Spend Nightmare on the planned aspect
Finish the aspect that earns reliable clears before upgrading a second version of the same weapon for novelty.
- Unlock late Nightmare bounties when ready
Bounties of the Infinite Abyss costs six Glassrock and six Serpent Scales after an eight-Fear clear on either route and the required final-region entries.
If the chosen Fear total is unstable
If a Testament run fails, lower all optional Fear, keep only the requirement, and restore the proven build. Change one Oath condition at a time until the cause is clear.
