Familiar tier list

These ranks weigh combat help, gathering access, and the point in progression when each companion solves a real need.

What do you want from the run?

Safest ranks the options that give a player the most room to recover from positioning, timing, and resource mistakes. The order combines each published tier judgment with how often the option is favored by the safer authored aspect plans. Within each tier, reading order runs from best to weakest.

Defining choice for this ranking goal1 ranked choice
  1. Frinos

Use Frinos while learning routes or whenever maximum Life is the main constraint.

The Life bonus improves every encounter and asks for no build-specific setup.

Frinos adds less clear speed than Familiars with offensive passive bonuses.

When to choose another: If Magick limits an Omega build, use Hecuba. If survival is already stable and clear speed matters more, use Raki.

Strong choice with a clear tradeoff3 ranked choices
  1. Gale

Use Gale when movement speed and dodge chance solve the current route or Fear condition.

The passive defensive mobility remains active without requiring a particular attack pattern.

Dodge is less predictable than a larger Life pool and adds no direct build resource.

When to choose another: If predictable maximum Life matters more than dodge chance, use Frinos. If damage matters more than mobility, use Raki.

  2. Hecuba

Use Hecuba when an Omega-heavy build needs more maximum Magick and room control.

The Magick bonus supports repeated Omega actions while the stun creates safer openings.

A build that rarely spends Magick gains less than it would from Life, critical chance, or mobility.

When to choose another: If survival is uncertain, use Frinos. If the build already sustains its Magick and wants more damage, use Raki.

  3. Raki

Use Raki when the build already survives reliably and benefits from universal critical chance.

Critical chance can improve every damage source without changing the combat sequence.

The random damage increase does not repair low Life, poor Magick recovery, or unsafe positioning.

When to choose another: If survival is uncertain, use Frinos. If Magick limits an Omega build, use Hecuba.

Useful when its conditions match1 ranked choice
  1. Toula

Use Toula when an extra recovery effect or Fishing Point access advances the current objective.

The Heart Bond can protect a run while the Sense Bond supports a specific gathering target.

Its general combat value is less consistent than Life, Magick, critical chance, or mobility.

When to choose another: If neither a fatal-hit recovery nor Fishing Point access serves the current objective, use Frinos for unconditional maximum Life.
