Open the Cauldron on the second return

Check the limited Cauldron reveal queue, brew Night's Craftwork when it is visible and affordable, then unlock the Crescent Pick from the Silver Pool tool tab.

Spoilers: progressionReady when these are doneEvery marked conversation has been completed on this return.Night's Craftwork is complete, visible with 1 Moly reserved, or waiting on a known reveal pass. The Crescent Pick is unlocked or 1 Ash is the next named door target. The next night has one exact material target and a known way to collect it.

Do these first

Full steps below
  1. Repeat every marked conversation first
  2. Open the Cauldron and read every visible recipe
  3. Brew Night's Craftwork when it appears
  4. Return to the Silver Pool after brewing
  5. Name the next resource source before leaving

Recognize these first

Incantation
A permanent Cauldron recipe that opens a service, rule, route feature, or other lasting change.
Reveal queue
The ordered set of eligible Incantations the Cauldron can reveal. Only a limited number appear per night, so an eligible recipe can be delayed.
Tool tab
The Silver Pool section that appears after Night's Craftwork is brewed.

The Cauldron is available now

After the second night, Melinoë returns to a Crossroads where the Cauldron is now usable. This is the first visit on which Incantations can be inspected and brewed.

The Cauldron and the tool tab are a dependency chain. The second return opens the Cauldron, but the tool tab opens only after the correct Incantation is purchased.

Follow the recipe and tool dependency chain

  • The Cauldron is available from the second return onward.
  • The Cauldron reveals at most 3 new Incantations from this category each night. Earlier eligible Incantations in the fixed Cauldron order can delay this one. They do not need to be completed.
  • Night's Craftwork costs 1 Moly. It opens the gathering-tool tab at the Silver Pool.
  • The Crescent Pick costs 1 Ash after the tool tab opens and lets you mine Silver during later nights.
  • The Tablet of Peace costs 4 Silver and gathers Psyche from Lost Shades. Psyche is not a normal chamber-door reward.

Open the first gathering access in this order

  1. Repeat every marked conversation first

Speak to each marked character before judging what is missing. Conversations can satisfy another system or recipe condition.

  2. Open the Cauldron and read every visible recipe

This is the first return on which the Cauldron can be used. The Cauldron reveals at most 3 new Incantations from this category each night. Earlier eligible Incantations in the fixed Cauldron order can delay this one. They do not need to be completed.

  3. Brew Night's Craftwork when it appears

Spend 1 Moly. If the recipe is absent, do not farm an invented prerequisite. An earlier eligible recipe may still be ahead of it in the reveal queue.

  4. Return to the Silver Pool after brewing

Open the new tool tab and buy the Crescent Pick for 1 Ash. If the Ash is missing, keep the recipe complete and make 1 Ash the next door target.

  5. Name the next resource source before leaving

Use the Pick on later nights until four Silver funds the Tablet of Peace. The Tablet, not a door, begins repeatable Psyche gathering.

Respond to the exact missing recipe or material

  • Night's Craftwork is not visibleFinish conversations, begin another night, and recheck on the next return. The fixed reveal queue can delay an eligible recipe without adding a hidden material requirement.
  • Night's Craftwork is visible but Moly is missingKeep 1 Moly as the next room-pickup target. The recipe is already known. More unrelated spending does not unlock its material.
  • The tool tab is open but 1 Ash is missingChoose a safe Ash door on the next night. The Crescent Pick is the next purchase that creates a new resource source.

If Night's Craftwork is delayed

If the queue delays Night's Craftwork, keep using the Altar and the practiced Staff while another night advances the reveal pass. Do not treat the missing recipe as a reason to restart the save.
